Configuring requests
Patrons can send requests to their library through Enterprise. You can configure the settings for the requests functionality on each specific profile.

There are two main elements of the requests functionality that you can choose to enable for patrons. The options patrons have are different depending on which elements are enabled. The two options are as follows:
- Allow patrons to send requests by selecting a link on their profile homepage.
- Allow patrons to view their requests in a tab in My Account.
If you enable the first option but not the second, patrons can send requests to the library but cannot view or edit those requests after initially submitting them.
If you enable the second option but not the first option, patrons cannot send new requests but can view, edit, or cancel any requests already attached to their accounts. These previous requests could be requests sent through Symphony or through Enterprise, if the functionality was previously enabled.
If you enable both options, patrons can send requests via the link on the profile homepage and then immediately view, edit, or cancel that request or any others through the Requests tab in My Account.
If neither option is enabled, then patrons are not able to either send requests or view previous requests.

To allow patrons of your libraries to send requests through Enterprise
- Log in to the Admin console.
- Choose Profiles from the navigation pane.
- Choose the Edit option next to the search profile for which you want to enable requests.
- Select the Show "Send a Request" link check box.
- Fill in the Requests Policy field with a valid request policy from your Symphony ILS. For more information on configuring requests within Symphony, see the “Request List Wizard” topic of the WorkFlows Online Help.
- Select OK to save the changes.
To allow patrons to view requests through My Account
- Log in to the Admin console.
- Choose Profiles from the navigation pane.

Locate the profile in which you want to modify the My Account settings, then from the Select menu choose My Account Settings.
The My Account Settings page opens.
- In the General Options section, select the Display Requests Tab on My Account check box.
- Select OK to save the changes.
